Dantonio to Miss More Time

Michigan State head football coach Mark Dantonio will not be able to return to the sidelines this week. This will be the second week of action he's missed this season. He has a blood clot in his thigh, which doctors say is related to the mild heart attack Dantonio had on Sept. 19, following a victory against Notre Dame.

After missing his team's win over Northern Colorado, he'd planned to return this week against Wisconsin. There were hopes that Dantonio would at least be able to watch the game from the stadium's press box, but doctors recommended he stay at the hospital for observation.

Heart issues are not to be taken lightly, or made fun of, but when life imitates art, we here at Los That must acknowledge it. In a scene reminiscent to the Charlie Sheen tour de force, "Major League II", Dantonio will be watching the game in his hospital room, just like fictional Cleveland Indians manager Lou Brown (played by the late James Gammon) did while his team played Game 7 of the ALCS against the hated Chicago White Sox.

I'm sure he'll be exhibiting the same fervor and anxiety that he usually would while pacing the sidelines. He can't help it, its in his head coaching nature. Here's hoping that Coach Dantonio does have a speedy and healthy recovery, and when given the all clear, is able to return to lead his Spartans into action.
