Video: John Wall Gets His "Dougie" On Before Wizards Home Opener

Before the Wizards home opener today John Wall, the number one overall pick in this summer's NBA draft and also who is no stranger to dancing in public (see here for the John Wall dance back at Kentucky) gave the fans a little show of the Dougie dance that's popular with the kids (and apparently athletes) these days. Enjoy.... or not.

  1. Dale,

Don't watch him... Who are you or myself to tell that young how to conduct himself/

  2. Norman,

It is without question that you are more than likely, White!!! Correct? That would be the only reason why you would thing that it is ok for you to tell another man how to act!!! He is a multi millionaire that does not know how to act in your eyes and if that is your thought process; what is your view about Brett Farve (With his Sexting/Texting) or Big Ben and his bathroom foreplay... I bet you that was fine display of a good man... The 20 year old young man was dancing not texting exposed body parts or making a college girl perform lewd acts on him... See the differenc between Black(s) and Whites(s)... Your Funny!!!

  4. Dale,
If you are so uptight about it it why do you comment. I am sure this does not help your blood pressure. The kid is enjoying his first night on home court he will remember this for the rest of his life. Let him have fun. Plus when he hangs 30 on your team i hope he does the dance for you.

  5. yall must understand that the organization always ask him to do that dance....since Kentucky he has been doing that dance..so the wizards organization pretty much makes him do it

  6. if you all read the interview beforehand, he was asked to do it to get the crowd pumped. it's all in fun. when you're a millionaire, go talk to him. until then, keep your mouth shut.

  7. why so many chumps hating on JW having a little fun before the game?

  8. Again, those guys as well as you can't do that dance. Those that do, do. Those that can't, criticize. Quit being so jealous and get your own thing - Find a hobby.

  9. To the anonymous person that commented about how whites are commiting worse things than the black athletes, I have this to say. You forgot to mention any of the black athletes that committed crimes like O.J., Kobe Bryant, Ray Lewis, blah, blah, blah.

I thought JW was having fun. If I was having my career home opening night in the NBA I'd be dancing my lily white but off whether it looked like crap or not.

  10. I think he just needs to grow some maturity. Obviously I didn't personally like the half minute dance due to the fact that I just want to watch the game, not "dancing with the stars". NBA is getting unwatchable anyways. And to the person that said JW had a 3.5 gpa in college, didn't he stay for one year? As I can remember, the first year of college is usually a cake walk. Especially when you're the star basketball player for the university.

  11. The one thing that I think everybody is missing is that people are paying to come see him not any of us. That's what wrong with today's society we hate on others for our own shortcomings.

  12. Why can't people just let him be himself?? I loved him @ KY and miss his personality on the team. For those of you who think he's an a_____e, he's laughing all the way to bank!

  13. You bet he is! Even before he was drafted, he received $25,000,000 (yes, that's million!) from Nike just to have his name on two different styles of shoes!! I'm a white woman and loved watching him play at KY. He will be sorely missed this season.

  14. N Dale makes some decent points. Would be nice if he could just play the game and not do that stuff.

  15. WELL, NECKS WILL BE NECKS, NO MATTER WHO, WHAT, WERE. IF YOU DID NOT ROLL OVER FROM BAGGIN YOUR SISTER--YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE SEEN THIS YOUNG, RICH EDUCATED TALENT HAVE FUN ON HIS FIRST NBA SHOW.. THATS WHAT HE LIVED, AND DREAMED OF, NOT HOW TO START THE TRACTOR!!!!

  16. I completely agree with Dale. Wall just acted like a schmuck.

  17. If you think KY players don't earn their grades, you haven't read or heard much about Coach Caliperi!! If their grades drop, they don't play. His philosophy is that they are students first, ball players second. I, too, am a KY fan and will miss John Wall's athletic abilities on the floor this season!

  18. as the person said jwall is living his dream, for you rnecks go back to milking your cows with your eyes only showing in your white sheets.

  19. what a young black to do? had it been arrested for misconduct, which is completely human to make mistakes everybody would have hung him. There is a 20 year old man expressing his joy and satisfaction for reaching dizzy heights either academically or in basketball, he still being labeled as asshole, etc...woww..it is almost a curse to be black in this country..

  22. If he would like to have fun let him do it, as long as he doesn't do anything stupid off the court is fine by me.

  23. but from a positive standpoint,if gilbert gets his head out of the sand and plays the wiz kids might surprise some folks.

  24. why is it when afro-americans become rich certain people think they should act a certain way.Bird was Bird, Rondo is Rondo, let John be John. Dale be Dale because you have to live with yourself and I think you know what I mean. I really feel bad for you to have all that hate in you. I never ever want to know what that feels like.Life is to short

  25. This is not that serious...Got children coming up missing every day and all some ppl can do is act a fool over a man dancing...Get this serious over these ppl killing their children and let the guy dance

  26. Im an asian. I dont see a problem with JW dancing. He is not harming anybody by doing that. For those who do, eat ur hearts out, he is a multi millionaire, can play ball and can dance! So F U! -nEO

  27. I don't watch this team but the dance made me happy. He looked like he was enjoying himself and I came along for the ride. If you can't participate in the enjoyment that's on you. Be angry if that's your way but don't spoil the fun.

Why is everyone ragging on Dale? At least he had the chutzpa to state his name. "Anonymous" doesn't go very far in proving a point. How do you even know Dale is white? I know someone with the last name Dale and they are black.

    These comments suck
